Comment and resolve

Pin feedback to the exact spot, talk it through, and close it when it is done.

Comment

  1. Open an artifact and press C, or choose Comment. On HTML, it is the Comment mode button in the toolbar.
  2. Click the spot you mean to pin a numbered comment there. In a markdown document, highlight text and choose Comment.
  3. Type, then press Enter. Shift+Enter starts a new line.

Follow up

  1. Choose Show comments panel, the speech bubbles in the header, to see the threads.
  2. Open a thread, then Add a reply…, or react to a comment.
  3. In the thread's ⋯ menu, choose Priority — High, Medium, or Low — to mark what matters first.

Resolve

  1. When it is done, choose Resolve thread, the tick on the thread. Undo brings it back.
  2. Resolved threads are hidden. Choose Show at the foot of the panel to see them.
  3. Choose Reopen thread on a resolved one if it needs another look.

Tips

  • Threads you have not read sit under Unread with a dot. Opening one marks it read, and its ⋯ menu has Mark as unread.
  • Sort orders threads by Newest, Priority, or Timeline. Filters narrow them by read state and priority, or show resolved threads.
  • Export comments downloads every thread on the version as Markdown.
  • On HTML and markdown, Hide comments, or H, hides the pins so you can read the page.
  • A comment can carry up to five images. Press V to go back to Pointer mode.
